NovaBiotics Ltd, the Aberdeen-based, clinical-stage biotechnology company ("NovaBiotics" or the "Company"), today announced that Dr. Deborah O'Neil, the Company's Chief Executive Officer, was named EY UK Health Products & Services Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 at the awards dinner held at The Brewery, London last night, attended by over 600 of the country's top business leaders.

Dr O' Neil founded NovaBiotics in 2004 and, over the past ten years, has worked to grow the business into a leading global biotechnology company with two clinical-stage compounds, each with annual earning potential of in excess of $1bn.

Dr O'eil was given the award in recognition of her work to find cures and to combat resistance to antibiotics.

Dr Deborah O'eil, CEO of NovaBiotics, said: "To be acknowledged by this fantastic programme amongst some of the most successful business leaders in the UK is a great honour. I would like to thank all the NovaBiotics team and our stakeholders for their support both for the company and me personally. Without their collective commitment and efforts over the past ten years, this award would not have been achievable."
